Best restaurant?!

Hey everyone, in this post I’m gonna tell you about my favourite restaurant called “Het Pleintje”. “Het Pleintje” is a restaurant which is located in Godsheide in the province of Limburg, and if you like to eat good food for an honest price you can get it there.

Not only the price is good for the quality of the food but you also get friendly waiters and a very cozy atmosphere. The interior is decorated very nicely with a lot of wood accents, so it looks modern but also a bit rustic.

But the best aspect of the restaurant is that it doesn’t serve too many foods, you may think this is weird and wrong but I will explain this.
Do you ever go to a restaurant and think a long time about what to eat and when you get your meal you think: “I should have chosen the other meal”. Well that doesn’t happen in “Het Pleintje”. There are enough meals to fill everyone’s needs, but each category doesn’t have too many options so the choice isn’t too hard.

So if you like good food with a cozy atmosphere you should definitely come to “Het Pleintje” in Godsheide.

My favourite dish

Hello, in this post I will be talking about my favourite dish called Barbecue. I know it’s not really a dish but it’s still is my favourite meal, because it’s usually a gathering of friends or family members and that is the aspect which seperates it from other meals for me.

During a barbeque the main focus of the meal lies on the meat, which is cooked on a barbeque grill, this grill is heated by charcoal or wood. Next to the meat you usually eat something cold like cold pasta or cold potatoes. In addition to the meat and pasta people often eat vegetables and baguettes. There is no real recipe because everyone prefers something different.

Edible bird’s nests are bird nests created by swiftlets, using solidified saliva. They are particularly prized in Chinese culture due to their rarity, supposedly high nutritional value, and flavour. Edible bird’s nests are among the most expensive animal products consumed by humans, with nests being sold at prices up to about US$3,000 per pound, depending on grading. The nests have been used in Chinese cooking for over 400 years, most often as bird’s nest soup.

2) Tuna eyeballs – Japan

It looks disgusting but it actually tastes good as it tastes pretty similar to squid or octupus. These are most eaten Japan

3) Hákarl – Iceland:

The rotting carcass of a Greenland or basking (Somniosidae) shark. It’s buried underground in a shallow pit and pressed with stones so the poisonous internal fluids that allow it to live in such cold waters can be drained out making the meat safe to eat. After this it’s hung out to dry before being cut into strips and served. With a smell that’s described as ammonia-rich and a strong ‘fishy-flavour’.

4) Shiokara – Japan

A dish made of pieces of meat taken from a selection of sea creatures, served in a brown, viscous paste of their own salted and fermented viscera. Oh and it’s eaten raw.

5) Balut – Philippines

A developing duck embryo that’s boiled alive in its shell. As well as sounding incredibly harsh, it looks incredibly unappetising. Still, it’s a common street food and is usually served with beers.
